As hectic as life can get on a day-to-day basis, it’s important to find moments of peace in all that chaos, and to use those moments of peace to root ourselves in gratitude.

Feeling extra introspective today? Here are 20 gratitude prompts you can ask to help you remind yourself of the good, the great, and the wonderful in your life.

  • What are 5 things I'm thankful for that touch each of my 5 senses?
  • What are 10 things I like about myself?
  • What is a quirk, talent, or skill I have that I’m grateful for?
  • What is one positive experience I had today, and what did I learn from it?
  • What is one thing that I often take for granted, but should be grateful for?
  • What's a challenge or obstacle I overcame to get me to where I am today?
  • What consistently makes me smile?
  • What is something beautiful I witnessed recently?
  • What are some things about my home that I am grateful for?
  • What are some things about my environment that I am grateful for?
  • What are some of my favorite things about my career or occupation?
  • What about my health am I thankful for?
  • What is something I have that I once wished for?
  • Who are some mentors or role models that I am thankful for?
  • What is one piece of advice or knowledge that I am glad to have learned recently?
  • What is something I accomplished recently that I’m proud of?
  • What are some simple, day-to-day pleasures I am thankful I get to experience?
  • What is something I'm able to do for others that I'm grateful for?
  • How have I grown or improved over the past year, and what am I grateful for in that process?
  • What is one thing I'm looking forward to in the near future?

Don’t just think about your answers to these questions. Write it down. Text them to Soul when you get the appropriate prompt. And consider going even one step further to concretize those reflections in a creative way by integrating visual or tactile mediums—like drawing your answers, or creating a gratitude jar to keep on your table. The more you invest into your gratitude practices, the more you get out of it.

Stay thankful. 🤞
